MTV gave each student a Flip camcorder, which is a compact, portable, handheld camcorder that offers a multitude of video filming, editing, and online sharing functions. Students were instructed to shoot footage consistent with the theme and upload it to http://whattheflip.mtv.com/episodes. Highlights of the footage were compiled into 8 unique episodes, including Episode 2: Awake, Alive, Surprises. Episode 2 exclusively features Matt Nathanson in its soundtrack.
