From those who began lifting weights yesterday to the seasoned veterans, there are the essential supplements not only for bodybuilding, but for overall health.

They should always be present in your daily regimen and are simple little things that can be done to improve your quality of life.

1) Multi-vitamins: To make up for those vitamins not found in your daily diet.  They will help in many facets and are a simple preventative measure for many diseases that can potentially affect you.  Some can even have added digestive enzymes, which will help you break down food and aid in its bioavailability.

Things to look out for:  The source in which the vitamins are coming from.  Quality multi-vitamins use whole-food and animal sources, whereas the lesser multi’s use synthetic lab produced products.

2) Fish Oil/Omega 3’s: Supports optimal cardiovascular health. Helps to regulate HDL and LDL (cholesterol) levels, maintaining a healthy blood pressure, and to enhance optical health as well.  It is suggested to obtain around 1-3 grams a day.

Where to find:  Fish oil is relatively cheap and can be found almost anywhere.  I would avoid “triple strength” and other fish oils with added strength, as it tends to add to the price.  I suggest generic fish oil and can be found at bulk retailers such as Sam’s Club or Costco.

Note: Depending on the quality, some “fish burps” may occur…

Blake - does it really matter if the vitamins are synthetic? I mean if they are
just vitamins then how big of a difference would it make if they are natural or
not?
