Fiction: TheCollegeMan doesn’t own.

I must admit, I was a little shocked when I discovered the above truth. No, not about TheCollegeMan owning, I already knew that. But the worldwide appeal, that was interesting. The thought of my TCM submissions, as incredible as they are, being read by people in Azerbaijan and Gibraltar is pretty cool. For me, the discovery was a defining moment. I said to myself, “If I have fans in Pakistan, then I must travel to Pakistan.” And so I did. I embarked on a worldwide tour to spread the TCM gospel and meet my loyal followers on their turf.

My first stop was in Bhubaneswar, India. Thankfully, I had some prior knowledge of the Hindi language from watching Slumdog Millionaire a bunch of times so my visit with TCM fanatic Hamid Ansari went smoothly. He openly proclaimed his love for TheCollegeMan was greater than that for his prized cow and then brandished a small child with a TCM logo tattooed to his forehead. I confess that a tear did escape my eyes. My next location was Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I met diehard TCM loyalist Bhumibol Adulyyadej. I had no idea what he was saying, but he did kiss my feet and gave me a handwritten copy of the TheCollegeMan alma mater in Thai. Amazing.

And so my CollegeMan pilgrimage carried me from country to country until I had visited well over 100 nations and thousands of cities. I even made a stop on some cast away island where a skinny man with an unkempt beard showed me a TCM Wilson soccer ball. One might be surprised with some of the closet TCM fans out there… cough Kim Jong-Il cough. Regardless, everywhere I went, crazed fans screamed the letters T-C-M in their native languages.

Fact: Foreign people love TCM.
